Mosaic with Fret Pattern

This striking multicolored mosaic border was formed by contrasting tesserae of darker and lighter colored tones in rows between white and black frames, creating the illusion of a gradient. Such designs were the product of careful planning by a workshop, and were often replicated in other local projects.
